Market Metrix teams up with TripAdvisor offering “Review Metrix” monitoring tools

I had been chatting with the guys at Market Metrix a couple months ago about the necessity of using their solid metrics with social media. Of course, I didn’t know they were already up to something…. I am very interested to see what has been developed, and feel this may turn into a very useful monitoring tool that will monitor trends, issues, etc… highlighting what you are doing right, what you are doing wrong, and gathering the advice in a way that makes it better measured, and more organized. Pleased to see this! Looking forward to it!

TripAdvisor has teamed up with Market Metrix to offer you Review Metrix, a tool to help you analyze customer reviews. Review Metrix will score your reviews and compare your results to benchmarks to determine which reviews require immediate action. Look for Review Metrix later this summer.
Thanks for the heads up Michael. I have to applaud TripAdvisor and Market Metrix for working together to create a sort of monitoring tool. Brands want/need them. Do you have any other information you can share, such as cost model? Exportable data?
I’ve been looking for a monitoring tool that will provide review info across a number of sites (TA, Yelp, Citysearch, etc) but have yet to find anything that does a better job than my RSS feeds and excel spreadsheets.
I tested ReviewAnalyst last year, but it didn’t quite do the trick. Plus, at $100/month across 5 properties it gets pretty steep. I see they just came out with version 2.0, but haven’t checked it out.
Any further insight you have into monitoring tools would be most appreciated.

I know of radian6.. an incredible monitoring tool, worth doing a webdemo for sure. As you fall in love with it, sticker shock will upset you….. as it is upwards of $600 a month for one user & one “profile” or hotel, brand, etc. I love it, but I cannot imagine being able to find the money for that. Someday I hope to see on property people, like a “concierge 2.0″, monitoring everything…. but at this point (as you know) it is still so scattered and organization is quite tedious. I am anxious for affordable and realistic tools for a single person or small brand. As a consultant to multiple properties (as you know) staying on top of everything is…. well……. it’s basically impossible. For now we do what we can, day by day, and try our best. I can feel intelligent organization and maturation of social outlets coming, but I am sure it will take a lot of patience, and a lot of innovation. Please keep me posted of anything you find!

Re: reputation monitoring tools – do you think there is an alternative pricing scheme that would be fair & more affordable to smaller brands?
I used to work in the software industry, so I understand why their B2B pricing is what it is. But I’m also interested in innovative pricing & business models…
Josiah… not sure how many clients you have, but I just got into the beta 2.5 of Hootsuite. Have you heard of it? It removed my need for bit.ly, tweetlater, twhirl, tweetdeck, and a couple more I am totally forgetting. It is an amazing and INCREDIBLY intuitive way to manage brand accounts, as well as track, as well as post…. it is fairly comprehensive.
